How to Clean Oven?

Doing regular roasting and baking in the oven, makes the oven dirty and smudged. Remains of grease and burnt food gather and turn into carbon, releasing a strong burning smell while cooking. 1.) Salt to Clean Oven

Steps to Follow:

  • The next time you see the food bubbles all over in your oven.
  • Don’t let it to bake and cool in the oven as it will become a tough stain later on.
  • Sprinkle some salt on the bubbles while it is still in the liquid state.
  • After cooling of the oven, wipe out the entire spill with the help of a clean cloth.
  • The same trick works for the spills on the top of stove.
  • The salt will take away the bad odors too, and to get a pleasant smell out of your oven, just add some pinch of cinnamon in it with the salt.

2.) Newspaper to Clean Oven

  • Usually the oven is self-cleaning appliances but still there is a need to clean them.
  • Always wipe out the residue of roasted and baked food products.
  • These residues later on become the food for the roaches, ants and other insects.
  • Finally when we again bake food in the oven, these residues also contaminate our fresh food.
  • Just take a roll of newspaper as a cleaning agent to clean oven.
  • Roll the paper and wipe the moisture and residues in a fast manner.
  • Clean the oven with newspaper daily after each cooking.

3.) Aluminum Foil to Clean Oven

  • Aluminum foil is a popular cleaning agent that helps to clean the metals like silver and brass.
  • Every time you bake or roast some food in the oven, just use aluminum foil.
  • Aluminum foil helps to keep messy spills off the bottom of the oven.
  • Just lay the sheet as per your oven size under each rack.
  • Do not lie at the bottom of the oven with aluminum foil as it could catch a fire.

4.) Vinegar to Clean Oven

Steps to Follow:

  • When you’re done with frying, just clean up oil splatter from your oven top, range hood, counter top and walls by cleaning them with a cloth soaked in undiluted white vinegar.
  • Take another cloth soaked in the cold tap water to clean, and then rub dry with a mild cloth.
  • Take out that blackened, oily rack off your oven and clean it up with a mixture of one cup of apple cider vinegar and two tablespoons of sugar.
  • Apply the mixture while the rack is still warm, and let it do its job for an hour or more.
  • You will notice that the oil and residue comes off with a light rubbing.
  • Take out the hot plate out of the oven that looks more like an oil pan.
  • Clean it back to get it back into the shape by rubbing it with a cloth dipped in white vinegar.
  • Remove grease residues from your oven by rubbing down the inside with a cloth or rag soaked in white vinegar once a week.
  • The same method helps to remove oil off the grilles on gas stoves.

5.) Ammonia to Clean Oven

Steps to Follow:

  • The best way to effortlessly clean an electric oven is to turn it on and let it pre-heat at 150°F and then turn it off.
  • Put a small bowl having a large pan of boiling water on the lower shelf and half cup of ammonia on the top shelf of the oven.
  • Close the door of the oven, and let it rest in it overnight.
  • In the morning, take away the dish and pan, put the oven out for a while in the open air. Then wash it using the ammonia and put a few drops of dish washing liquid in warm water.
  • Take away the grills of oven and put them out in a large washtub.
  • You can also use your sink, yet you might require it to clean it afterward.
  • Fill the washtub with lukewarm water and add half cup ammonia.
  • Soak the rack in it for at least ten minutes, then wash, and wipe clean.
