- Vinegar
- Toothpick or stir stick
- Microwave-safe bowl
- Water
- Sponge
Directions to Clean a Microwave:
- For this method, take equal amount of vinegar and water into the bowl. The quantity depends on how long you want to steam your microwave. In our suggestion using a half a cup of each liquid is more than enough. However if you are looking for a deep clean, then you can use one cup each of vinegar and water.

- Bubbles will start forming on the toothpick, letting the solution boil without exploding. Bubbles can’t form on a really smooth surface, which may cause it to boil into an explosion.
- Now, heat the bowl for about five to ten minutes, depending on how dirty your microwave is. After the time is up, let it in for a couple of minutes. This well help steam to build up inside.
- Afterwards, take out the bowl with the help of oven mitts, as it’s going to be very hot to handle directly.
- Now, take a sponge and dip it into the hot vinegar-water solution and scrub the interior of your microwave.
- You will hardly need to use a sponge, as the gunk will come off easily with only a few swipes of a rag or a paper towel.
