How to Clean Beauty Blender?

Steps to Clean Beauty Blender:

1.) Prepare a Dish of Warm Water

Take a dish and fill it with warm water, after that, squeeze a dollop of gentle hand soap into it. Now, mix it lightly until suds form on the surface of the water. Be make sure the dish soap is generally not intended to use as a beauty blender cleaner. It can irritate your skin later on when you need to use the sponge. So, you should go for a baby shampoo and “gentle formula” organic shampoos. This will work especially well but you can also go with any soap that is safe for use on your skin or hair.

2.) Soak the Sponge

You need to drop the sponge into the dish of soapy water.  Then, you need to squeeze it three times with your hand and then allow it to soak for approximately thirty minutes. You need to prepare the dish of soapy water such that it completely cover the blender sponge. If there isn’t enough water initially then simply add more water as needed. The water will likely begin to change color as the sponge soaks. Expect the water to take on tan hue as it draws the foundation and other cosmetics out of the sponge. It should also expand to full size as it soaks in the soapy water.

3.) Massage Cleanser into the Sponge

You need to gently rub the solid “Blender Cleanser” or an equivalent soap into the most heavily soiled areas of sponge. You need to use a gentle cleanser to evade damaging the sponge. You should go for solid soaps like castile soap which usually works well. If you want a liquid soap then consider moisturizing baby shampoo or an organic shampoo having a gentle formula. Spend three minutes massaging the cleanser to the sponge. Make sure to use only your fingertips but do not use a scrubbing-brush since doing so could damage the sponge.

4.) Rinse the Sponge Free of Soap

Now, simply rinse the sponge under running warm water until all the cleanser washes out. If any additional makeup existing near the surface of the sponge should get rinsed well during this very step as well. Then, gently squeeze the sponge under running tap water to remove the soaps and makeup completely. Check whether or not the sponge is fully clean by the clarity of the water while rinsing. Carefully check that the rinse water runs clear beneath the blender sponge as if it is adequately clean then you can move directly to the drying step. You should not go for the drying process if the water still seems dingy.

5.) Dry Using Paper Towels

Before leaving the beauty blender to dry, wring out excess water but be gentle while squeezing the sponge with your hand. After that, roll the sponge in the clean, dry paper towels to absorb any water still trapped inside. If the sponge is still quite damp then let it sit in a dry location to continue air drying. You need to wait until the sponge is completely dry and then you can use it as an applicator.
