1.) Vinegar to Clean a Washing Machine

Steps to Use Vinegar:

  • Set your washing machine washer to run on boiling water with the largest weight setting. Avoid adding any clothes or detergent in the washer. Add a few cups of white vinegar like two cups to the hot water and let the washing machine to stir for a minute to add in the vinegar.
  • Let the machine to run again for a few minutes. Stop the washer after a few minutes and let the water to rest in it for half an hour to an hour.
  • While vinegar and hot water are penetrating the dirt and odors, take a clean cloth soaked in the vinegar to rub down your washer.
  • Rub slowly on the top of the knobs, washer, wash bin, and on the fabric softener distributors.
  • Let the washing cycle to continue until the water starts to drain. If your washer has the capability to do it, then turn the button so the tub will drain while spinning.

  • Pause the washer after ten minutes and let the water to stay in it for half an hour to an hour.
  • While baking soda and hot water are decomposing the dirt and scums, take a clean cloth soaked in the baking soda solution to rub down your washer.
  • Rub in circular motions on the top of the knobs, washer, wash bin, and on the fabric softener distributors.
  • Let the washing cycle to continue until the water starts to drain. If your washer has the capability to do it, then turn the button so the tub will drain while spinning.
