1.) Collect the Proper Tools

The first step before you get to change a car battery, you will require the following things

  • Gloves
  • Ratchet with Extension
  • Safety Glasses
  • Sockets
  • Boiling Water

2.) Park your Car at a Safe Place

The important thing to know here is that the car should be parked away from the house, away from traffic, should be on a flat surface, away from smoking. It should be away from every situation that may lead to an electrical current to cause a fire. Always remove your metal accessories like rings or earrings. This is an important thing that most people ignore and harm their life. Turn off the car and apply the parking brake.

3.) See whether Navigation code Apply

Before changing or disconnecting your battery, check that if your car needs any navigation or radio codes to be assigned. This is required once the new battery is fitted. You can see these codes from your navigation manual, or can get it from your car’s showroom. If your car does require these codes, and in the cigarette lighter you don’t have a memory saver, then pen down the codes. 7.) Remove both the Terminals

Take the right size plug with ratchet and extension, take out the bracket. The bracket locks the battery to the vehicle, identified as a battery hold down. You can then use a right size plug and ratchet to open the negative battery terminal. Remove the terminal after it is opened as you pull off the battery. Make sure you have worn proper rubber gloves and goggles. Follow the same method for the positive terminal.

8.) Change the Battery
