- Water
- Hydrogen peroxide

- Fresh spills are the easiest to get rid of. It is most likely to get removed from the carpet.
- If a nail polish spill occurs, try to keep the area moist. This will help in making the process of removing easier.
- Take an old, soft cloth and try to blot up as much of the spill as you can. Keep changing to a fresh part of the cloth to avoid spreading the stain. Blot the area with water to keep the stain moist.
- Now take another soft cloth and add a few drops of nail polish remover on it. Before applying it on the concerned area it is suggested that you do a small test. Apply it on some hidden area to make sure that the nail polish remover doesn’t fade your carpet. Remember to keep the stain wet using water while you are doing this test.

- Removing dried spills is more challenging as the nail polish and color get settled on the fibers of the carpet. Removing them will loosen the bond with the fiber and will need to be cleaned away.
- Start the process by moistening the area using water.
- Once you have moistened the area with water, take some nail polish remover with rubbing alcohol and apply.
- Using an old, small brush, like a toothbrush, gently brush the fibers. Start working from the bottom and move toward the top. The brush will help loosening the paint from the carpet. Pay close attention to the carpet while scrubbing. Scrubbing aggressively may damage the carpet fibers.
